Seven days in the garret – day 1 update

Somehow I managed to start work at ten o’clock. Between nine and ten I decided to have a boiled egg then worried that I was eating too much salt. I was horrified when I realised that I had no idea what a gram of salt looked like. So I measured out a gram on my electric scales, it looked a lot more than I thought it would. Then I attempted to put every grain back in the container. It was a major triumph of procrastination and so early in the challenge.

When I did finally get down to work I realised that I had actually done some of the work on a ‘holiday’ to the Cotswolds where, in the absence of a phone signal and Sky TV, I had a lot of time on my hands. So I congratulated myself and began the search for the reason why Open Office Writer word counts are always more that Microsoft Word wordcounts. That wasted nearly an hour. Then I wrote something. Quite a lot, it turns out!

Later on I decided that I needed to relearn how to do a French plait as my hair is quite long now. I then remembered that I had blogged at New Year about growing my hair in my Mondo-Beyondo blog post. After congratulating myself again at how well this year was going I messed with Spotify for a bit in order to locate ‘Spanish Stroll’ by Mink Deville as this was going to be my writing theme tune for tomorrow (today’s was Mmmm Bop by Hanson).

Additionally I Tweeted some of this ad FB the rest. Yet, amazingly, here I am with a lot of progress made and my work scheduled out for the rest of the week. This is going to be more fun than I thought!
